ABOUT PUBLISHING IN COLOR

Publishing in Color (PIC) hosts a network of talented publishing staffers and remarkable freelancers. We bring hands and hearts to the ongoing work—including the stories and images that further Christian publishers’ missions—to share biblical truth with everyone.

PIC encourages, equips, and comes alongside to offer techniques and tools for telling individuals’ stories successfully in books, booklets, short and long articles, podcasts, illustrations, and film.

PIC seeks to serve Christ as we serve others through our conference gatherings, networking, and sharing resources. PIC connects individuals with publishers and others committed to increased, multiethnic representation.

The PIC scholarship helps pay for selected individuals to attend a future PIC conference at no charge.

HISTORY OF PUBLISHING IN COLOR

In 2023, Joyce Dinkins became the owner and director of Publishing in Color. She also networks with the Academy of Christian Editors, and with the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association (ECPA) to cultivate opportunities for diverse people.

Joyce shares part of her personal story and her passion for Publishing in Color in “Lift Every Voice”, on the “Where Ya From?” podcast with host Rasool Berry of Our Daily Bread Ministries Voices Collection.

Joyce has prayed for and participated in Publishing in Color since 2017, and provided a keynote at the first PIC conference in New Jersey in 2018, followed by in-person service in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and online since 2020.

Brian Allain planted Publishing in Color’s (PIC) work in 2017, calling publishing leaders to join him. The first PIC gathering was in 2018 in New Jersey, followed by gatherings in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Milwaukee, and virtual gatherings in the fall and spring biannually since 2020.

Brian Allain grafted in Joyce Dinkins Publishing LLC as new owner and director in 2023 when Joyce Dinkins retired from her role at Our Daily Bread Ministries as VOICES executive editor.
